Well, since we don't have the money to have cable, this is how we roll at the Vargas house. We are all about style with our digital converter box and the ever so fancy rabbit ears. I have not stooped to putting the flags on the antenna yet, but I'm close!

Frugality - TV Vargas Style
Well, since we don't have the money to have cable, this is how we roll at the Vargas house. We are all about style with our digital converter box and the ever so fancy rabbit ears. I have not stooped to putting the flags on the antenna yet, but I'm close!

Long Time No Blog
I know, I have been a sucky blogger. But, let's face it, like everyone else, life gets in the way. My personal life has been an absolute mess on the financial front and work front. (Don't worry, marriage is still going strong) My job of 6 yrs told me last week that they don't have the money to pay me anymore. My airline job only provides me with part time hours. So, in other words, OUCH! I don't even want to discuss our finances now in result. So, here I am, back to making every penny count again. Maybe I should take this as an opportunity to really explore frugality and to share our journey with others.....

Greetings from the Midwest
**sorry for the rant at the end** just trying to vent on the computer instead of the kids**
I know I have neglected to post, but I have had a crazy week +. In review,
12-7, drive from Atlanta to NW Indiana, 11.5 hours by myself with the boys
12-9, start new job at Midway airport, drive 60 miles each way in downpours
12-10, freezing rain, snow, for the drive home from Midway
12-11, actually work the gates for new job, memory starts waking up
12-12, go shopping with my sister, first time in years!
12-13, truck transmission starts acting weird
12-14, stuck 700 miles from home at parents house, no vehicle, parents gone for the weekend, potentially facing at least 2K in car repairs, yet DH keeps eating out!
Can you sense I'm frustrated? I bought the man a freezer full of food before I left, yet he continues to eat out since I'm not there, literally we're talking about microwave food here, no prep necessary. His laziness kills me, on top of the fact that he called off his other job twice last week! I hate to know whats wrong with the truck on top of the fact that I will need to get a rental car too.

Another Car...
This time it's a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. To the best of our knowledge and what we have been able to figure out, it was a repo car. All signs point that way. Let's hope that this one lasts longer than a month!

Car Meets Fire Hydrant
This is what happens when a Grand Am meets a fire hydrant. I am shocked more did not happen since the fire hydrant was completely broken off the ground. Both airbags did deploy though, so the chances of fixing the car are getting slimmer. Now, for the record, this is the 3rd car in 3 months that my husband has either crashed or blew up the engine. He totaled his Explorer Sport Trac in June. He blew up the engine in the Hyundai Santa Fe in July, now crash in August. I swear he needs to start riding his bike!
ETA - We owned this car for a grand total of 40 days before this latest incident!

Doctor Bills
Why do Doctor bills always come in the mail on a Friday afternoon after the billing department is closed? Do they time them perfectly so you can be angry all weekend knowing that you are being charged for something you should not owe for. The topper is that they turn you over to collections and it's the first statement you have received!
