Roasting Marshmallows at Our House Happens....

...over the fire pit, because hubby and I are not campers!

(On a side note, this was hubby's first time ever roasting marshmallows and he didn't like them. Boo hoo!

Weekend Highlight - Wonder Pets!

The boys got to meet the "Wonder Pets" at the Mall of America this weekend. Landon is still talking about it!

Loving the little things

I always have to sneak in the boys room at night and re-cover them up, as they both sleep like wild men. Tonight, as I covered up Landon, he sleepily raised his head and said" I loves you momma" and fell right back to sleep. These are the little things that remind me that I love being a mom.

Labor Day

I borrowed this from Rocks in My Dryer. In the spirit of Labor Day, let's talk about the real labor!
How long were your labors?
Kid #1, 14 hrs (not true labor, sporadic contractions due to bleeding)
Kid #2, 3 hours

How did you know you were in labor?
Kid #1, never went into true labor, bleeding due to placenta previa
Kid #2, water breaking.

Where did you deliver?
A hospital, or what I would call a baby factory for the 2nd one, busiest birthing hospital in the metro Atlanta area.
Drugs?
C-section with both, both general anesthesia due to severe anemia. If I had a epidural, I would have hemorrhaged in my spine and been paralyzed
C-section?
Yes, both times. Could not have a VBAC due to previously mentioned anemia
Who delivered?
Doctors, The first was the chief of OB who was called in due to the severity of all my problems. The 2nd was a Dr. from the practice I went to.

A trip To Zoo Atlanta

We took a trip to the zoo with the boys. Ethan absolutely loved all the animals, Landon was more interested in terrorizing the people around us by screaming, Ah the joys of a 2 yr old!

Rainy Days

Today has been such an ugly day in Georgia. We are getting some of the rain from Tropical Store/Depression Fay. That's exactly what it brings...depression. I want to scream since the kids cannot go outside to play. Its like 2 wild monkeys in a cage at the zoo. Just Kidding!

My New Cousin

Congrats to my aunt and uncle in Indiana. They brought home their new daughter from China recently. She's adorable!
I can't believe that I have a cousin who's one, all the way to a cousin who is almost 40. What an age span.

I hope one day that I can share with everyone pictures of my new daughter!

We're Back!

A day late, so you can imagine the upcoming blog posts. All I can say is that flying for free is cool, but it also has its pitfalls. Like staying the night on the floor of your in-law's basement because you cannot get on a flight. You can see by the picture that Ethan enjoyed his extra long wait at Ohare. We couldn't pull him away for nothing!

I'm excited!

I'm so excited, tonight I will be in my mot favorite city! We will be seeing lots of family and friends, but not my best friend. She was going to drive up from Indianapolis, but she cannot get off of work. We will miss her and hopefully she will be able to sneak away for a visit to the ATL soon. This is also the first time that we will be staying with friends and not at a hotel. (Thanks Ed and Maria) Buying 2 cars in a month killed the travel fund!

The Great Debate

Sure, you thought this was going to be some sort of great political post, yeah right! No, I just wanted to reflect on how hard it is to decide where to go out to eat! Every time we head out as a family, it takes forever to decide where to go. I swear that I am going to open a chain of restaurants called

1. I don't know
2. You decide
3. Whatever you want
4. I picked last time
5. I don't care

I could go on and on with excuses/ restaurant names! What do you do that makes it easier to choose where to go? Do you stick with old standbys and favorites? Take turns? Play eeny meanie miny moe?
